Creative Community for Adults in Recovery
ART LAB is an experiential arm of Creative Compass — a welcoming space for adults in recovery to explore creativity in community. Through mixed media, collage, watercolor, and simple craft-based projects, ART LAB offers a chance to slow down, play, and reconnect with yourself.
The focus is not on making “good art.”
The focus is on being present, curious, and gentle with yourself.
No art experience is needed! Bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
In ART LAB, you can:
✦ use play and curiosity to tap into your creativity
✦ practice self-compassion and patience
✦ connect with others in recovery
✦ explore new materials and techniques
✦ learn to trust your inner knowing
Some people begin with coaching. Some begin with ART LAB.
Both support the same intention:
living a more connected, creative, emotionally sober life.

Not at all. Art Lab welcomes all skill levels. Each session offers a chance to learn new techniques, experiment with different supplies, and grow in community. You’ll receive gentle guidance, prompts, and support throughout the creative process.
-
Art Lab is about the process, not perfection. Any time spent creating is time well spent. Your piece might end up on a museum wall, your refrigerator, or tucked inside a sketchbook. What matters most is the joy of making and connecting with others and self.
-
For many sessions, supplies are included. Over time, you may discover favorite materials — a sketchbook, a certain pen, or a brand of watercolor — that you enjoy using for personal projects.
